This program provides a place to study and contribute to theory, practice and policy concerning adult learning in organizations, communities, workplaces and social movements in local, national and international contexts. An interdisciplinary program, it highlights critical social analysis, transformative learning, creative inquiry, social justice and international/global awareness.

Interested in child-centered, evidence-informed teaching? This non-thesis teacher education program leads to the Ontario Teacher's Certificate of Qualification in elementary education and an MA degree. You can also choose to do an optional qualifying research paper to pursue more advanced graduate study. The EdD program builds expertise and knowledge in child study with a focus on special education, security, and child and youth well-being.

This program offers critical and scholarly skills in counselling and clinical psychology, and trains counsellors and psychologists in psychological services. It focuses on psychological practice and counselling services required by community agencies and educational institutions, as well as critical perspectives on psychological and mental health. Graduates may apply for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

This program is a forum for systematic reflection on curriculum, including a critical examination of the substance, purposes, and practices for bringing about learning in educational settings. You can choose to select one of seven emphases, including arts in education, critical studies in curriculum and pedagogy, digital technologies in education, Indigenous education and decolonization, qualitative methodologies, science, mathematics and technology, and well-being.

This program provides an in-depth understanding of research and theory in child development and trains students to carry out research in the field. Students also have the opportunity to explore research in applied settings, such as public policy. The MEd degree is designed for practitioners in education or related fields who wish to enhance their knowledge of research, theory and practice in this area.

This program is devoted to the study and development of policy, leadership, change and social diversity in education. Students may choose to focus their attention on courses in one of these four research areas or to explore the field more broadly. The International Educational Leadership & Policy EdD is specifically designed for mid-career professionals who work in international organizations, governments, foundations and non-governmental agencies.

This program specializes in the study of universities, community colleges and other post-secondary institutions. It explores the relationship between institutions and the broader society in which they operate, the nature of what takes place inside these institutions and how students experience the post-secondary environment and the relationship between their experiences, earning and success. The study of higher education embraces critical examination, both historical and contemporary, of phenomena related to tertiary-level education.

This program investigates the relationships of literacies in language and language in literacies across communities, societies, instructional environments and informal learning settings. Expand your knowledge in courses that explore the development of bilingual, multilingual, and translinguistic abilities; language and literacy education policies and planning; the learning, teaching and use of Indigenous, official, international/heritage, sign languages and literacies; and curriculum, instruction and assessment related to the development of first and additional language and K-12 literacy skills.

For students who aspire to become teachers and obtain an Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification. In this program, you will acquire an extensive knowledge of educational theory and best instructional practices. You can choose to specialize in Primary/Junior, Junior/Intermediate or Intermediate/Senior areas of teaching.

This program prepares students for leadership in psychological practice with children, adolescents and families in school, mental health, private practice and research settings. It also offers professional training in psychological assessment, therapy and other psychosocial and instructional interventions, professional consultation, and prevention. Research and professional opportunities are available. This program addresses theoretical and empirical inequity in educational spaces broadly conceived, such as schools, universities, workplaces, government, unions, media, popular culture and communities.

Students may pursue a wide range of studies, including: anti-racism; critical race theory; Indigenous and anti-colonial studies; aesthetics, media, and communication; feminist and gender studies; class and poverty studies; francophone studies; post-colonial, diaspora, and transnational studies; queer and disability studies; cultural and philosophical contexts in education; and democracy, ethics and social class.
