Gem of a Run by the Water

The temperatures last week were much too high to actually enjoy the runs I was going on, but this week has been much more reasonable in terms of temperature. Last week we even had an official heat-stroke warning!

Yesterday evening I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across a bike path lining l'Isere, the main river winding through Grenoble. From the Houille Blanche residence to the bike path took about 10 minutes (at a slow jog) and from there to the right hand side I scrambled to a dirt path. This one was parallel to the bike path and closer to the water but I enjoyed it more because it wasn't paved (ie. precarity is pretty much the definition of my preparation for these things).

I snapped these ones from the second bridge that crossed the path perpendicularly after about a half hour of running before heading back. The most lovely part of the evening was reaching the residence, sitting in the grass below a tree stretching, and enjoying the sunshine on my (disgustingly sweaty, but still charming) face.
