Woodworking

Picture
Woodworking is based far more on precise measurements when it comes to making boxes and tables, but can also be an abstract form of expression, evidenced by my piece on the left called "Teardrop." I enjoy the creativity that comes along with combining different wood types. Unlike ceramics, however, I learned that one can't simply add more wood if they make a mistake. I made the majority of these pieces between the ages of 16 to 18 when I was in high school sculpture and woodworking classes. I would love to continue woodworking in the future, but unfortunately the tools are quite expensive to make myself a kit.

Clocks and cutting boards are made exactly the same way. After gluing wood varieties together, planing them flat, and polishing them up, all you have to do is drill a hole through your cutting board and voila! You have a clock.
