For Third Year in a Row, President Steele-Figueredo Named to San Fernando Valley Business Journal鈥檚 List of 200 Most Influential

Making his third consecutive appearance on the list, Woodbury President, Dr. David Steele-Figueredo, has been named to for 2019, the San Fernando Valley Business Journal鈥檚 annual recognition of the area鈥檚 200 most influential leaders.

According to the publication, The Valley 200 is comprised of leaders from various sectors of the community whose 鈥渋nvolvement, commitment and invaluable contributions help improve the Valley鈥檚 economy and quality of life.鈥 Each influencer has positively shaped the San Fernando, Simi, Conejo, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys, home to more than 1.75 million people.

Appointed in October 2015, Dr. Steele-Figueredo serves as Woodbury鈥檚 14th president.

Prior to joining Woodbury, he was dean of San Jose State University鈥檚 Lucas College and Graduate School of Business. Before beginning his academic career, he played a variety of strategic roles with Chevron Corp., including senior strategic planner and financial analyst on the Chevron-Gulf merger team, and president of Chevron Latin America. Born in Venezuela, he attended the University of Birmingham in England, where he earned B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering. He later completed graduate business training at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is on the board of Better Burbank Corp.聽 He describes his passion as 鈥渞esearching and writing articles about higher education, given its importance in maintaining U.S. leadership in today鈥檚 global innovation economy.鈥
